As an ADHD and overall angry adolescent, I feel very confident saying I am not sure I would have turned out to be the person I am today with Susan's counseling. Her warm, understanding personality, combined with her bubbling energy was the perfect thing to capture the attention of a young man who wanted nothing to do with adult direction. Her style of therapy allowed her to challenge my own though processes by simply presenting my own arguments in a different way, and then having me tell her why I thing my parents didn't get it that way. It was an excellent lesson in both self awareness and understanding other's perspective, qualities I still rely heavily on to this day. Susan was the first to discover my ADHD, and alerted my mother about it, which helped by my parents and myself understand that my issues were more than just bad behavior. That experience gave us a basis to build off of and I can truly say it was life changing. I am fairly confident I would not be the loving husband and father I am today, or even in the position to be on without her putting the train back on the rails all those years ago, and I am forever thankful.
